I decided from the very beginning of planning for Emily’s birthday party that I wanted a cupcake theme. So, it is of little surprise that she will be wearing a cupcake shirt at her party! Amber at Kate Grace Rose makes amazing hand-sewn onesies with a cupcake design on the front. I tried to take a picture from an angle so you can see the cupcake design is not an iron on. She makes the base of the cupcake out of a high quality, decorative piece of fabric and then in a very cool way she frays solid colored fabric and layers it on the shirt in such a way that makes that layer look like frosting! Additionally, the “frosting” effect is visually pleasing because it creates a 3-D effect that is far more noticeable than a basic iron on.
