**Spotlight** TV Flashback Review!

TV flash backs was kind enough to allow me to review their service!  What is amazing is that TV flash backs sells old TV shows on DVD for discounted prices!! This is great for all of those TV show lovers out there!  I LOVE TV shows and admit to spending quite a bit of money buying many shows on DVD that I like to re-watch all the time.

I was given 5 DVDs to review all of which are from shows that I enjoy watching.  Their website has DVDs of TV Shows going all the way back to 1921 up to 2010.

That 70s Show Season Three
That 70's Show Season Four

3rd Rock From the Sun Season Three
3rd Rock From the Sun Season Four
Roseanne Third Season
All of these shows I have seen before, but I watched them on DVD once I received them and enjoyed the special features on all of them as well as the quality of the DVDs.  They were all packaged securely and came in perfect condition.  I believe that this is a great service for a great price!

The NEW Greeting Card!

Gonzo hamming it up for the camera.

Have you ever tried to find some new type of card to send a family member or friend?  Is your traditional card too boring?  You might want to try this awesome card!  I was so excited to try this out.  SendaFlyingCard.com has these awesome customized frisbee cards.  They do have a patent pending on their product!

The card that I was sent has my blog header on the front!  My card is a gold frisbee with the image screened on front.  I was very excited when I found this in the mail.  I brought it inside and the first that happened was my cat walking up inspecting it.  Kratos, my dog, and I played fetch with it however his tooth went through it pretty fast (he is a very rough playing dog).

Gonzo was very interested! What is this thing!?

The image looks pretty nice on the card however because of the dark colors it came out a little dark and the image was a little hard to see though it was very detailed.  This is something that I believe a kid would really love to get for their birthday!  All kids like getting mail right?  I know I loved tossing a frisbee when I was young.

I do love how with this card you can do more then read it and set it aside or on display for a little while.  This is a card that you can play with and interact with!  Overall I really love this greeting card!

They have an awesome list of different ideas for occasions to use these cards.  What is also great is that you get FREE shipping and an optional $1 charge for shipping confirmation.

Betrayed Book Blast $100!

I joined up this this awesome Book Blast where the author Ednah Walters is giving away a $100 Amazon Giftcard to one winner!  Not too long ago I participated in her Blast for her other book Awakened which was the prequel to this book which is release on June 5th!  So, come check out what this book is all about before the book is released!

Betrayed is a Young Adult book.

Betrayed
Lil isn't just an average teenager. She's one of the Nephilim--the descendants of humans and angels--which gives her some serious psi skills and a mission for redemption. Just when Lil thinks she's found a balance between her normal life with human friends and her training to become a Guardian, she's warned that someone close to her will betray her. When the boy she loves starts acting strangely and one of her human friends acquires a supernatural ability, Lil begins to realize that someone is manipulating the people she loves... and won't stop until she's been lured to the dark side.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK:

"Just like Awakened, Betrayed has risen above all the other books in this genre. She has created such an amazing world for her Guardians & demons where good and evil are not as simple as it seems they should be." ~J. Whitus (Book Junkies) Walking On Bookshelves

"I just love a spunky heroine so I was excited to keep reading about Lil, the demon hunter I got to know in Awakened (book one of The Guardian Legacy series). Walters takes the story and world she built so well in Awakened and adds in an intense plot with lots of twists to make for a strong sequel."~ Kelli (I'd So Rather Be Reading)

"Lil is one of my favorite female leads, with all of the traits that you want a strong female lead to have. She's smart, strong, loyal and doesn't know how to back down."~ Missy (Missy's Reads & Reviews

"There is action in this book as well as a lot of emotional turmoil."~ Cathy Garcia The Review

EDNAH WALTERS BIO:

I grew up reading Nancy Drew and Hardy boys mysteries and fell in love with books

I enjoy good love stories, tingly mysteries and epic adventures. When I finished my college and decided to be a stay-at-home mother, I devoured books like they were going out of production, until reading just wasn't enough. So I started to write.

I've written picture books (unpublished), contemporary and romantic suspense (under the pen name E. B. Walters), and finally YA fantasy (as Ednah Walters).

AWAKENED (2010) is the prequel to the YA series about the Nephilim, The Guardian Legacy series. BETRAYED (book # 1) is now available wherever books are sold, HUNTED (book # 2) will be released in February 2013 and FORGOTTEN (later in 2013).

My adult contemporary with or without suspense is about a west coast Irish-American family series. I've published four Fitzgerald books: SLOW BURN (April 5th 2011), MINE UNTIL DAWN (June 29th 2011), KISS ME CRAZY (Sept 25th 2011) and DANGEROUS LOVE (Jan 29th 2012)

When I'm not writing, I do things with my family, five children and my darling husband of 18 years. I live in a picturesque valley in northern Utah, the setting for my YA series.

Could it Kill Your Child!?

You may or may have not heard about this, but it is all over the news today!  Washington Poison Control keeps getting calls bout children ingesting Tide PODS.  It hadn't occurred to me what could happen having these in your home!

Yes, these are a new product and I know many people have been trying them out.  If you look at the picture above maybe you will see what I see.  The Tide PODS container looks like a candy jar or a cookie jar something so many children are used to.  Not only that, but look at the individual Tide PODS.

Tell me what you think these look like?  Maybe to you they don't look like anything to you, but I bet to a child they look like a colorful snack or toy.  We all know that little children especially love putting things in their mouth.  This could be VERY bad!  Why?  Because the membrane on these Tide PODS is VERY soluble.  I watched when I used it in my wash with the free trial I received and it only took moments for it to be dissolved.

These PODS can be VERY toxic to children since they aren't like normal detergents.  These PODS can be 2x to 4x as strong of a concentrate as normal laundry detergent is which is how they make the packages so small n comparison to how much you pour in for powdered or liquid detergents.

P&G has announced that they WILL be creating a new lid for the Tide PODS that will have an additional latch on it to help aid in preventing children from being able to get into the containers.  I think that it is great that they are doing this and are saying that it will be out in the next couple of weeks.

However, I also want to urge that it isn't completely P&G's problem.  Put these products up high and away from children so that they are not tempted to try to play or eat these products!  I know you wouldn't let your kid play with pesticides or drain cleaner so why give them to chance to play with these?

Be safe and keep your kids safe.  Now that I have said my two cents, What do you think about all of this?

Masters of the Veil Book Blast $100 5/31

Life can't get much better for Sam Lock. Popular, good-looking, and with a future as a professional football player. every guy at Stanton High School wishes he were Sam. That is, until his championship football game, when Sam accidentally links with an ancient source of energy known as the Veil and reveals his potential to become a powerful sorcerer. Sam is whisked off to Atlas Crown, a community of sorcerers who utilize the Veil as a part of everyday life. Once there, he trains beside a mute boy who speaks through music, an eternal sage who's the eyes and ears of the Veil, and a beautiful girl who's pretty sure Sam's an idiot. As it becomes clear Sam's meant for power magic-the most feared and misunderstood form of sorcery-people beyond Atlas Crown learn of his dangerous potential. An exiled group of power sorcerers are eager to recruit Sam, believing that he is destined to help them achieve their long-held goal. If they succeed, they could bring about the downfall of not only Atlas Crown. but all humankind.

So before “Masters of the Veil,” happened, Dan sat down and interviewed some of his characters. We won’t get into the details of how Dan got into Atlas Crown (the magical community where the story takes place), but let’s just say it wasn’t easy.

Super short character bios:

Sam Lock: High school football star. Popular, sociable, and knows nothing about magic… yet.

Daphne Sunder: Beautiful, intelligent, and one of the most popular young sorcerers in Atlas Crown.

Cassiella Pyx: Shy, kind, and sort of nerdy. Even though she keeps a low profile, she is also one of the more powerful young sorcerers.

Glissandro Thicket: Glissandro is a young, mute sorcerer who speaks magically through music. He uses the horn of a skull-wolf to create his musical language. He also keeps to himself.

Petir LaVink: Grumpy young sorcerer. He hates outsiders. VERY good at magic.

Rona Rono: Teaches the best young sorcerers in Atlas Crown (Daphne, Cassiella, Glissandro, and Petir). Was a tribal king in Africa before he was brought to Atlas Crown.

May: Liaison from Atlas Crown to the outside world.

***
Here are some of the highlights of the interview.

Dan asked: “What’s your dream in life?”

Sam Lock: I’m living it, baby! Did you see how many scouts were at my last game?

Petir LaVink: You don’t belong here (at this point, Petir raises his second-skin* at Dan). You’re lucky May says you’re ok, or I would… You know what? I’m leaving (he leaves the room in a huff).

Daphne: Easy. I’m going to be head grower some day. Can you Just imagine being in charge of the seven grow fields? Just being around all the animals, and plants, and colors. It’s like the most important job in Atlas Crown.

Cassiella: I don’t know. I guess… I don’t know. It would be nice to meet somebody (she looks down at her feet). Can we go to the next question?

Glissandro: <Translated from music> To be the first in my family to go through mystical Omani** I want to make my brother proud.
*A hand covering made from magical materials, which allows you to “grip” the Veil. Essentially, it’s how you do magic.
**Coming of age ceremony that determines what branch of magic you study
***

Dan asked: “What’s your favorite thing to do?”

Sam Lock: (Picks at his football jersey) Seriously?

Daphne: Well, me and my girlfriends love to go to the hot springs and relax. (She shrugs) And it doesn’t hurt that there’s usually some cute guys there.

Glissandro: <Translated> The Tinker Hut. You should see all the magical contraptions he has. Buttons that change the fabric of your robe, dancing figures, detectors, little globes that you shake and it snows around you. And there’s always something new.

Cassiella: I like the library.

Rona Rono: I teach. There’s nothing I like more. The first time one of my students drapes* an object, well, there’s no better feeling.
*Draping is a magical technique that involves wrapping the Veil around something to give it magical properties.

***

Dan asked: “What’s the most impressive magic you’re ever seen performed?”

Sam Lock: (Grinning like an idiot) Did you say magic? You mean figuratively, right? Because there was this one-handed catch I had where I dove [rest of answer omitted because of extreme length].

Daphne: One time I was with May in the grow fields and she called like every bird in Atlas Crown. Thousand of birds, every color imaginable, all came and May tossed handfuls of seeds into the air and the birds each caught one and flew away. I’ve never seen anything more beautiful. There was no chaos. The birds all fell in line like a dance. May said that another magical community had lost one of their fields—she never told me how—so she was sending a new one. It doesn’t get much better than natural magic.

Cassiella: I love watching Rona. He can drape anything. He made me a wooden flower that only blooms on the full moon, but when it opens up it gives off whatever smell would make me most happy. Last moon it smelled like honey and nettle-melon.

Rona Rono: (His eyes darken) If you don’t mind, I’d like to skip that question.

***
After the interview, the characters shared their thoughts on meeting Dan:

Sam Lock: He’s kind of small. I doubt he’d be very good on the field. He’s not like the son of a coach or something, is he? Oh. He’s a writer? Yeah, that makes more sense. So why did I meet with him?

Daphne Sunder: I guess he seems nice. Not my type. It’s not his fault though, I just wouldn’t ever date a flathand*.
*A flathand is someone who cannot connect with the Veil.

Cassiella Pyx: I really like blue eyes (at this point in the interview, Cassiella blushes). Don’t tell him I said that!

Glissandro Thicket: <Translated from music> He kept mentioning saxophone? What’s a saxophone?

Rona Rono: (Shakes his head) He seems to have the right heart, but She [The Veil] hasn’t chosen him. It’s too bad. I would have loved to teach him.

Daniel A. Cohen was just your average business student. Microeconomics, finance, marketing… you name it, he had to do a PowerPoint presentation on it. One dark and stormy night, he was bitten by the radioactive realization that memorizing business jargon could possibly be the most boring activity known to man.

After gaining eagle-eye vision, abs that could grate cheese, and a talent for imagining things (including his cheese-grating abs), he wrote his first novel and began his epic battle against the formidable business jargon. He continues to fight the good fight by playing saxophone and writing YA fantasy, forever hoping his Veil trilogy will help inspire others to join his cause.

CJ's BUTTer Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review CJ's BUTTer®. These products were created by CJ S. Miller out of her kitchen because she was determined to make a cloth diaper friendly diaper cream for her children.  This Original BUTTer® formula she created turned out to not only be known internationally as the best cloth diaper cream, however with its all natural ingredients   it has been found to have great healing qualities.

It has been known to treat such troubles as:

Eczema
Sunburn pain & peeling
Psoriasis
Allergy rash & peeling
Rosacea
Wind burned cheeks
Very dry/chapped skin
Alligator elbows
Mechanic’s hands
Incontinence protection
Hang nails
Hemorrhoids
Cuticle’s
Circumcision care
Dry, cracked feet
Itchy pregnant tummies
Bug Bites
Severe diaper rash
Scars
Cradle Cap
Cold Sores
Stretch marks
Hair Conditioning Treatments
And more uses are found all the time…

The first product that I tried out was The Original CJ's BUTTer®.  This product came in the 1/2 oz sample size.  I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I have not used even half of it.  I have been applying it behind my ears and around my eyes once or twice a day.  This product has been really helping me out in reducing inflammation as well as the flaky, scaliness that comes with eczema.

I was also provided this in additional scents from just the Original CJ's BUTTer®.  These scents were Bergamot Coriander, Sensuality, and Intrigue.  Sensuality is a blend of ylang, ylang & myrrh and Intrigue is a blend of orange, lemon, & petitgrain.  I absolutely fell in love with the Bergamot Coriander which of them is going to always be my favorite.  My second favorite would have to be Intrigue.  Sensuality is a nice scent however it is a little strong for me.  I also prefer sweet and fruity scents while the Sensuality is a flowery and spicy scent because of the myrrh which is spicy and the ylang ylang which mixes in a flowery scent.

The second product that I sampled was the CJ's BUTTer® Spritz Unscented.  This has multiple uses.  I tried using it as a spritz spray on my skin after my shower and felt my skin much softer and much easier and faster than putting lotion on everywhere.  I also tried this on my boyfriend's unruly frizzy hair.  It seemed to help it be a little less wild though we still have not found anything to reduce the frizziness or curls.

The third product I tried was CJ's Carcass Cleaner Tea Tree Scent.  This comes in a foaming pump like many hand soaps can be bought in, however because it is a natural product and does not contain the sythetic lathering agent it does not lather.  I am a fan of Tea Tree oil however I felt this was a very strong scent.  I used it on my hair massaging it into my scalp which seemed to help a little with the dandruff and dry scalp.  I have been trying to stop using products like Head and Shoulders so I just used this and than Shampoo'd with my normal Shampoo.

The fourth product I sampled was CJ's Peppermint Cream Lotion.  This cream has been amazing with the fluxuating temperatures that we have been having here in Michigan.  It creates a cooling soothing sensation on tired and aching feet and legs.  In addition to my feet and legs it helps a lot with my hands since in the warmer weather my nerves in my hands and feet go haywire and this cream really helps to bring them back to a neutral temperature which helps relieve achiness and tiredness that often occurs.  It also helps my hands because when they are hot I have less grip and weaker hands so it helps me to regain the strength that I do have left in them.

The final product that I sampled was two different flavors of CJ's BUTTer® Lip Balm.  These two came in Unflavored and Lip-tricity which is brand new and made with essential peppermint oil.  During most of the day I use the Unflavored which is what I normally prefer, but when I need something nice to smell the Lip-tricity is great!

Overall I loved all of the products that I was sent and I am very satisfied with them and would recommend them to other people.  I do know that the peppermint items have been known to help reduce migraines however I was unable to test this as my boyfriend has not had any since I received these products.

**While I love this company's products and do highly recommend them I wanted to make note that I received these products in a timely manner however over the past few weeks I have made multiple attempts to contact them and to no avail I have had no responses.**
